I work with young children using a child centered play therapy approach. A quote from play therapy researcher and author Garry Landreth is often used to explain the method’s effectiveness: “In the play therapy experience, toys are like the child’s words, and play is the child’s language.” I work to create a comfortable environment for children to express and process what words often cannot accomplish. A critical piece of the work is engaging parents and supporting the parent-child relationship both inside and outside the office.
